Last two months were like book festivals for me. In May I finished The Dresden Files series (11 available book) and Mrganville Vampires series (6 available book). Last month I finished Artemis Fowl series (6 available books), The Battle of Labyrinth, Necroscope, American Gods and I Am Legend(second time). None of the book disappointed me. Yesterday I finished The War Against Them by Jose A Vazquez. It's distributed freely on WattPad by the author. It's a good book about Walking dead people. |

After seeing (and hearing!) the musical by Jeff Wayne, I decided to read the War of the Worlds by Wells. The biggest advantage of having my entire library with me when I'm on holiday! For those that are interrested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pre.../30/moon.shtml Quote:

Finished Her Wiccan, Wiccan Ways, and started Manifold Time by Stephen Baxter. I've read several of his other books and am finding this much more my speed.

I'm reading "Another One Bites the Dust" by Jennifer Rardin. Her first book, "Once Bitten Twice Shy" was the $1 Orbit book, and I really enjoyed it. But of course, the rest of the books are $10 a pop. Argh. Obviously I bought it anyway, and it's pretty good.

Just finished 'Next' by Michael Crichton. Good read; as interesting as State of Fear. And next it'll be 'The Solomon Scandals' by David Rothman (of Teleread and recently at the NOVA Meet Up) |

I'm reading "Terms of Attraction" by Kylie Brant, a book I picked up to qualify for the Harlequin freebie. Never read her, so we'll see how it goes. I'm trying to get 5 books in 5 days (this would be book five).

This has been one of my favorite series of all time. So far, I'm keeping all the paperbacks. If/when I can afford to get the electronic versions, I'll do that and let the paperbacks go. The final book in the series Flinx Transcendent was released in May 2009. Amazon says that this book wraps up all the storylines from the earlier books.

Finished Manifold Time. It was pretty good, not a hard charging plot but lots of ooooh ahhh moments when some super-tech, near metaphysical truth of the story universe was revealed. Now I'm trying to decide what to read next. Thinking of The Alchemyst by Michael Scott, or maybe giving Dr. Offig's Lessons from the Darkside by P.S. Gifford another try. I may just read both.

I have just finished 'The Gargoyle' by Andrew Davidson. An interesting story, enjoyable and well-written. It maybe went on a bit too long. It reminded me of the 'The Time Traveller's Wife'; both in terms of story-type, and how much I enjoyed it. 8/10 Have now started 'Three Men in a Boat' - using JSWolf's prc version from here. JSWolf. |

Just finished "Wanting: A Novel" by Richard Flanagan - sort of a literary historical novel - with Charles Dickens, Sir John Franklin (of the doomed Northwest Passage expedition), and aboriginees in Australia - in intertwined story lines. Nicely done - in the style of Matthew Pearl or Louis Bayard.

Sailing Fundamentals by Gary Jobson. Ironically, also Three Men in a Boat by Jerome Jerome.
