The biggest problem is when the pdf has page based stuff like headers and page numbers. You get all of this stuff interspersed throughout your ebook text. It's especially a pain when you use TTS (text-to-speech).

In that kind of books, for a better work, I suggest Mobipocket Creator. It removes headers and footers quit well.

Thank you!

I have available to me a recent iteration of Sony (not the brand-spankin' latest, but the one before that) for extended borrowing if I'd like it, which is one of the reasons I'm heading for the Nook. Variety in the local family cluster! ;>

PS So sorry, have been totally disappeary for too long--epic hailstorm here, massive area damage, catastrophe teams--lost all my agility equipment! Totally off the grid to do repairs, deal with insurance. It'll be another month or so, though...)

So Doranna -- Which of yours would you recommend to a first-time reader? Say, if the interest was more fantasy than romance?

And Pat, or any of the other participating authors: If someone's new to your work, do you have a "first read recommendation"?

I would have to say it depends on the reader's tastes. Someone who likes mystery and suspense would probably go for the first book in my historical mystery series, STILL LIFE WITH MURDER. Fans of medieval romance should check out SILKEN THREADS, my medieval Rear Window. My big seller in ebook form is definitely STILL LIFE.
