Someone mentioned in some thread that when an eBook is deleted from Bluefire, it's not actually deleted and instead remains on the iOS device. This is a very serious bug as eventually, it will take over the free memory with eBooks that one cannot even access.
Is this true and if so, is a fix in the works for it? |

RE: Bluefire deletions
I just tested and the file (book) was deleted. Loaded a book via iTunes. Verified the file location with "Disk Aid" utility. I then deleted the book using deleted within Bluefire. Sure enough, viewing with Disk Aid again verified that the file was indeed gone. |

Micah- hopefully you can help me. I have several epub books I bought from Booksonboard when I was using my Sony 505. I don't use that reader anymore, and want to get all these books onto my iPod touch with the bluefire app. However, when I go to Get books and click on booksonboard, it takes me to a description of booksonboard. What am I doing wrong. Do I authorize Bluefire with the email address id I have for Adobe or the one for booksonboard. Unfortunately, they are both different, I had them both the same, but then changed the one for booksonboard. I'm thinking this might be the problem? I can't figure out how to change it in Adobe digital editions. I sent an email to booksonboard with these same questions. Hopefully they'll respond soon.
Thanks for any advice you can give me. |

Hello Micah.
Since updating to IOS5, and the loss of Stanza I have checked out many readers and only Bluefire and Megareader somewhat make the grade. I do not want to use Megareader because it disregards the book's format and for many books, the built in formatting is very important. Bluereader is, as far as I can tell nearly flawless in it's rendering, so I have decided it wil be my primary reader app from now on. A few suggestions: 1. OPDS support. Since buying the iPad, I hardly ever fire up the laptop, it really becomes very inconvenient to do so now and have to deal with iTunes to transfer books 2.- configurable tap zones, the default (tap on right -next page, tap on left - previous page) is fine for right handed people, but I am left handed, and tend to hold the pad with my left hand. I would love to be able to configure both tap zones to do anything I want, independently. In stanza, I had both configured to page forward, since that's the action needed most of the time, and use the swipe gesture (right to left) to page back and I only rarely do that. 3.- Series support in library. Calibre already sorts books by series, I would love to see a way for Bluefire to be able to remember that and allow the user to sort by series in the library view. 4.- pinch and zoom support for font size 5.- an easier way to switch between day and night mode. An icon on the toolbar perhaps?, I should not to have to dive into menus for such a commonly used feature 6.- likewise for an easier way to change brightness, perhaps as stanza did, a single finger swipe from bottom to top? Anyway, for such features, I wold be willing to pay a reasonable amount of money, as no doubt many others would. There's a huge market out there for a good book reader, and from what I can see no one is happy with the current offerings. You have an opportunity here to capture a large amount of orphan users, left adrift after Stanza's demise. Cheers Art |

Bluefire is pretty good. I really wish it had a dictionary (offline, please) and that links in the ePubs (to endnotes, etc) worked.
I'd definitely pay a few bucks if these features were added. Right now I use Kindle mostly, but really don't like having to convert to mobi and having not control over the huge margins. |

Does anybody have the problem where the left margin is bigger than the right margin? I've tried turning off pubilsher's default, turning off justification, a lot of different things, and some of my epubs just display this way. I don't have this problem when viewing them on my PRS-505, on Stanza, on Megareader, on iBooks, Kobo, you get the picture. It's only in bluefire, and it's very puzzling.
Otherwise, if Bluefire would display the top bar of the iphone (clock) i would use it. |

I see the wider left margin too.
But Unlike you I prefer not to have the clock displayed constantly. That would only mean even less space for reading. Right now all it takes is a quick tap in the middle of the screen and I see the top bar that shows the time. That's the way I like it. |
