I was excited about the review in Romantic Times. Here's the full text:

"Heart-stopping action, biblical history, mysticism, a stunning archeological
find and mind-boggling evil results in a breath-catching adventure.
Morrison's protagonists are brilliant and dedicated, resulting in a
pitch-perfect combination of plot, action and dialogue. This could easily be
the most audacious and compelling novel - and perhaps the most fascinating
debut - of the year." -- RT Book Reviews

I'm very happy you all got a preview of my "debut" last year!

There will be an audio version in the US narrated by Boyd Gaines, but I don't know if there is an audio version scheduled for the UK/Australia. As far as I know, the Australian paperback version is available in stores like Kmart and Target.

Sadly it looks like a case of regression. From ebook to paper book.

Sorry, Boyd Morrison. While I would like to buy your books…

Simon and Schuster is working the ebook stuff out with Amazon as I type this. I hope to know the status of the ebook soon. Rest assured, I'm doing everything I can to make sure there are e-versions of my books.

Australian availability.

It's in the March Abbeys Crime Chronicle and Abbeys website says "usually ships within 24 hours".

I intend to get my hair cut in Liverpool today so I'll check Target and Big W. Then I'm going into the city so I'll check Abbeys.

Hi Boyd,

I'm sorry for the confusion with the title of my little Hawaiian romance, Rogue Wave. This book is actually so old, it was written before the tsunami of several years ago. But trust me, it's just an innocent romance with a couple of rough waves No competition for your thriller...which, I for one, DEFINITELY want to read!!!

Actually, because mine is a romance, many people have mistakenly called it Rogue's Wave. grrrr

Best of luck to you with the book! I predict it will do well. It has a gripping title!!!

No need to apologize, Maureen. I originally named the book The Palmyra Impact, but Simon and Schuster wanted a different title and picked Rogue Wave. It does sound like our plots are very different, so I don't think there will be any confusion between ours or the other five books on Amazon called Rogue Wave.

Guess which book was picked as one of the month's Top Pick books in the May issue of RT Book Reviews magazine? Yup! Boyd Morrison's The Ark. It's on page 84 of the print edition (the very firstpage of the Mystery, Suspense, & Thriller section). However, as of now, the review on the site is only available to subscribers who have logged in.

Congrats!

It might be. That will generate lots of buzz. RT Book Reviews gets ARCs of just about everything anyway. (They're a monthly newstand magazine, so publishers and authors send them books. From what I have read, publishers can also pay to get the book and author featured on the cover.)

I have my physical copy of The Noah's Ark Quest right here beside me.

During my day out I did some investigating.

Liverpool:
Target and BigW a dozen or so copies each - $20 WITH STICKERS! "Publisher's Promise Love this book or your money back!"

Dymocks - small book store in national chain - couldn't find it.
Angus and Roberson - small book store in national chain - 1 copy $33

(I quite often can't find books I'd like in these shops. They may be national but they're just too small to stock a good range of books. )

Sydney City:
Dymocks - large branch of national book store chain. More than a doz copies $32

Abbeys - specialist shop (specialising in crime, history, children's, foreign language, science, politics and law) a weird mixture but great at what it does. Quite a few copies $30.

No time to check Kino......... (can't pronounce it), and Borders has closed due to the shopping centre being remodelled. If I go to Parramatta any day soon I'll check there.

I got my copy at Abbeys. I know it cost more but I like to support independent bookstores. I have a points card. I didn't want to carry the book all the way into the city by train. And Geoff hates BigW as they have automated customer check out machines and he says it's taking people's jobs. (I say those workers are helping all the customers through the machines as hardly anyone gets through without help. ;-)

Hope this is informative and not just boring. You definately sold one copy today! It's interesting about the stickers in Target and Big W. Not many books get those. Good sign?

Fingers crossed for good sales for you, Laine

Laine, thanks for doing such a thorough check on stores! This is fascinating info for me. I'd heard about the money-back-guarantee promotion; maybe that will convince some new buyers to take a chance on it. The Noah's Ark Quest got a nice mention in Country Style magazine, so hopefully that will help get the word out down there.

Lene, word from Little, Brown (my publisher for non-US/Canada English-language rights) is that since there are no major e-book retailers in Australia, the plan is to release the e-book worldwide at the same time as the UK paperback release in August. Sorry you have to wait. But on the bright side, Australia and New Zealand get the paper version five months early.

I just got word from Simon and Schuster that THE ARK will be available in the US on the Kindle and iPad on May 11! It's not available for pre-order yet, but I'm told it should be up at least two weeks before the book is released. I don't know yet what the ebook price will be or what other ebook stores it will be available in.
