Sorry to have dropped out for a while. I've been proofreading The Ark for the fourth time, and it is now on the way to production. I've also been deep into revisions on The Palmyra Impact, which I think is much stronger now for the changes. I've also been working on Tyler Locke 2 and cranking up the publicity machine for The Ark.

But I DO have title news. S&S wanted shorter, punchier titles for The Palmyra Impact and The Adamas Blueprint, and I think we've got two that fit the bill. THE PALMYRA IMPACT will now be titled ROGUE WAVE and is coming out in December 2010. I like that Rogue Wave sounds sinister and hints at the out-of-nowhere nature of the tsunami. We have a tentative new title for THE ADAMAS BLUEPRINT, which is coming out in December 2011, but it still could change, so I can't share it yet. Believe me, titles are difficult; THE ARK was originally titled THE NOAH COVENANT.

No news yet on the ebook edition, but I'm confident that S&S will work out their differences with Amazon before The Ark comes out. I wish I had more insight into what's going on, but you agree to give up a certain amount of control when you sign a publishing contract (otherwise, no contract), and I'm happy to let S&S deal with all of that stuff.

Simon and Schuster has put together a fantastic web page for me on their site. It lists my book tour stops (I hope I will see some of you at them), it has a book club guide, and it has some factoids and interview questions if you're interested in that kind of thing (beware--the interview contains some spoilers). Just one game, but I still get to call myself a Jeopardy! champion.

It was in 2003. Alex is very goofy when he's not on camera. He sings and banters with the audience during commercials.

Thank you again for providing so many of us with the opportunity to read your ebooks last year - the "originals" will be collectors items. Wow!

I have to agree, I prefer the original titles, but no matter what they are called your books are first class and totally deserve all of the attention that they are getting and will be getting. I loved them when I first read them and could never understand why they hadn't been picked up by a publisher.

Yes, it's quite humbling to see your mistakes archived forever, but I'm happy I won even one game. The 148 people who were beaten by Ken Jennings I'm sure would agree that one win is plenty.

I like the old titles, too, but it's hard to know what title is going to grab people's attention and convince them to try the book, which is the whole point of the title. But as Jabberwock mentioned, the content of the book is the same no matter what the title is.

Congrats on your success Boyd. Sorry I wasn't here at the start with the others. With all the great comments here on The Ark, I have placed pre-order with Borders-although I am a huge snob when it comes to hardbacks and really only buy paperback (not due to price but I feel I can get more comfy leaning whatever way in a chair with a paperback than a hardcover)

Some of you have asked how to get a signed copy of THE ARK if I'm not touring in a city near you. I've set up a system with a local proprietor here in Seattle called The Signed Page where you can order personalized, signed copies on the Web. It's great because the store is near me, and they take care of all the shipping to make sure the book arrives intact. It's a pretty slick setup.

The Signed Page even ships books internationally for an extra shipping fee.
