Chicago tribune is rather complex since it integrates several different pages and layouts so I will not do that recipe. It will take too much of my spare time. Only if somebody considers that recipe really important and is willing to donate some money I may reconsider.

Meanwhile here is the recipe for Chicago Breaking News.

I have been accessing a text version of Slate on my Kindle from the following site:
http://www.angel.net/~nic/slate.cgi

But I don't know how to create a recipe in calibre for downloading, say, all posts on a particular day.

Another site I love is Arts and Letters Daily, http://www.aldaily.com/ which usually provides links to a few interesting articles everyday. It will be great if one could download these articles once a day in an ebook form.

So I've noticed a lot of the recipes here download content automatically based on date on RSS feed. I just want to ask, is it possible to create a recipe that runs when the user calls it, gets input from the user and downloads content based on user input? Thanks in advance!

Addendum:
Also, say I have an RSS feed, is it possible to save each entry/article into a different file instead of having one big file containing all of them?

1) It's certainly possible. You can use the username and password fields to have the user input information.
2) yes, by defining a parse_index method in your recipe

Thanks. I did donate some $$ last week for Calibre-I do think it is important to support. Debra

You misunderstood me. When I said "donate" I ment donate to me not to calibre project (of course everybody should donate at some point to the calibre project since it is such great tool). My donation to the calibre project was writing 70 recipes so far. But all that is quite time consuming and I do have my daily obligations. I'm quite close to doing all the recipes that interest me. Therefore If some really hard recipe comes along I will just not do it because:

a) It takes too much of my time
b) I will probably never use it

In such cases people that are interested in having such specific recipe can donate some money and than I'll do it, just to partially cover the spent time.

New recipe for Russian newspaper Komersant (in russian).

Notice:
Quote:
In order to use this recipe properly on Sony reader you need to do following:
1. On the device's internal memory create folder called FONT
2. Copy to that folder any serif true-type font and name it serif0.ttf

My recommendation is to use GPL set of fonts called Liberation.
You can get them from here:
https://fedorahosted.org/releases/l/i/liberation-fonts/

For this and other recipes you should copy LiberationSerif-Regular.ttf

What's the syntax for setting html2epub options within a recipe? Say I want to change the title, author and publisher. I'm studying TheSugarQuill recipe and for LRF it seems to be:
Code:
html2lrf_options = [
    '--title', title,
    '--author', author,
    '--publisher', publisher
    ]
Do I use the same syntax for html2epub? Thanks!

No. For epub file this is the line you should use:

Code:
html2epub_options = 'publisher="' + publisher + '"\ncomments="' + description + '"\ntags="' + category + '"'
where publisher, description and category are python variables.

Okay. Still trying to find my way around in Python. Well, I don't really code so I'm still trying to find my way around programming in general.
