Hey guys
First off, thank you ColdSun for this review! I had already narrowed my two options down to the A81 and Q7 but this review made me lean towards the A81. Thanks to others who shared their two cents as well! Finally phuongt, thanks for compiling that list of apps

I'm hoping to receive my a81 next monday but ive started gathering apps. Ive tried downloading ColdSun's UI but have had no luck =/ could someone please upload it somewhere or email me: drumtomdrum at gmail.com

Also will the A81 read SDHC cards?
Will i notice a huge difference between class 2 and class 4 or 6. I dont mind longer transfer times but i really cant stand buffer/load times. I plan on watching movies and reading texts for the most part!

I use the device for 2 weeks now, but there are some questions I can't figure out. I know how to use google and I have a windows Mobile (WM) phone, but Windows CE seems to be quite different.

So if anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be very thankful:

Java - I have a midlet called TrekBuddy which I didn't find any alternatives for. But I can't find a running JRE for CE. I tried the following (that run succesfully on WM): IBM J9, Esmertec Jbed, Jeodek and the Mysaifu JVM. None of them did work out. Eve looks promising but the CE 5.0 download doesn't seem to work.
Edit: PhoneME works in the CE 5.0 version.
TomeRaider - did anyone manage to install TomeRaider (preferably version 3.x) on this device? I'd love to have the whole wikipedia with pictures with me, but I can't find a working cab.
USB memory devices - I managed to connect an old 2GB flash memory stick and it showed up as hard disk in the explorer. But any other than that don't work, e.g. other flash memory sticks, external hard drives (both 1.8" and 2.5", even connected with a Y-cable connected to my computers USB-port to make sure the hard disk gets enough power) and card readers. What are your experiences?
Linux - Is anyone trying to boot linux on the device? I tried the method that I use on my phone to boot Android (using HaRET), but I won't even get to the point booting the kernel. Are there any other ways and how do I get in some kind of bootloader mode? Would it work with the combination used while updating the firmware (reset + power)?

Battery - Is there a replacement battery available? Is the battery constructed by Witstech or is it a OEM part used by other manufacturers as well?
Charger - As I can't charge the device through the USB-port, I search for a charging cable that I can use with a standard USB charger (e.g. for an iPod). I ordered a 2.5 mm charging cable (which is too small) and one for the PSP (which is too big). Now I ordered a 3.5 mm adapter (for Nokia 6110) which I hope to receive this week. Did anyone find something that fits? (the last straw would be making my own using the car charger)

I have only the one for the W1060, but it should be the same.

Shifty, if you're using a C device you should grab the new Silverlight UI firmware.

The Silverlight UI looks great except for the metal "window" where the icons are displayed, is there away to change that skin but keep the rest the same? I probably shouldnt judge it till ive used it in the flesh... I do like the look of ColdSun's UI. any help would be appreciated! I also can not access witstech's website :S

If USB devices does not work directly, try connect them over externally powered USB hub. I had working and hooked up keyboard/mouse and 2 USB flash drives (4 and 8gb) at once, over the 7 channel USB hub....

Hello all, and great thanks to ColdSun for his review and upkeep, and Kathy6699 for her tireless work for all of us. I have two real questions at this point, and they are really the only things holding me back. First, how is the Bluetooth going? I would like to be able to have both (but not at the same time) a bluetooth audio headset and a bluetooth serial connection going, but as far as I can tell, no progress has been made on the headset side, and I have yet to see someone really DO anything with the bluetooth (as far as test connectivity goes). The other question is what JAVA support is there? I do Java desktop apps here and there, sometimes interfacing over bluetooth, so I need to have support for Java on it (preferably the latest, 1.6). Anyone have any ideas about either of these questions? Thanks either way!
