Edit: Attached is the updated adapter code for StoriesOnline. I have fixed the multiple page problem. There were some other changes in the page code, so I did some cleaning up. I have tested with a few sample stories I have and everything seems OK. I have also tested with FineStories as that subclasses the StoriesOnline adapter. FYI, I don't usually do test versions of the web service unless somebody asks.

2016-12-12 - Comment out some debug output in story.py. - Replace post_process_apply_filename_safepattern with post_process_safepattern so it can have its own pattern. (CLI only) - Remove adapter for fanfiction.csodaidok.hu. It's been broken for a while and it's a difficult site in Hungarian language, which none of current devs can read. - Add always_use_forumtags to valid options lists. (plugin ini editor only) - Comment out largish debug output in adapter_storiesonlinenet - Make QQ ask for user/pass if necessary instead of just fail. - Remove more script tags from squidge.org/peja metadata. - Update translations. (plugin only) |

Hello again!
I seem to have a problem with a set AO3 stories - they were uploaded/imported from another site. When I try to read on of them on my e-readers, it either shows the whole text on one page (i. e. text of one page overlayed by that of the next pages) or it simply doesn't break the page at the end of the screen (I can see the following line peeking up at the very end of the reader's screen). I tried re-downloading (overwriting) as well as first-time downloading a few with the latest version of FFF, hoping that it might help. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Here are two sample links (sorry, they are restricted, I hope you can access them): story 1 story 2 |

Those two stories have some extra <table> tags wrapped around the chapter text. I would assume those are the most likely culprit.
A Calibre epub->epub convert seems to remove them. Failing that, you'll have to manually edit your ebook files. Quote:

I read from the FAQ that login info are stored in personal.ini. I inputed my login info for storiesonline.net but everytime I use Download from URLs for storiesonline.net, it still prompts me to reenter the username/pw.
I have it entered like this: [storiesonline.net] #username:XXXXXXXX #password:XXXXXXXX I double checked the user/pw info and it's correct. When I enter the login info manually during prompt, it works. But storing the login info is not working, so what am I doing wrong? Last edited by moredrowsy; 12-15-2016 at 03:10 AM. |

Hello Jim,
Unfortunately the epub-epub-conversion didn't solve the problem. I'm going to edit them manually, as you suggested. But still, thank you for your quick help! |

@firefoxxy
Is that problem also if you open that epub in calibre or only on your reader? I downloaded the first story and in calibre-viewer it shows without problems. see enclosed |
