I had a problem, my device don´t bring on jailbreak after the update with "Update_hotfix...", don´t show jailbreak icon. These only shows on Demo Mode. I have a kindle KT2 ... some idea?

Sorry for noob question, i transfered the bin file to my kindle pw5, but how do i install it after i put in there thorugh sideload content. Do I have just to eject the usb cable and press "done" or is there any other action?

After disconnecting from your computer you need to use "Update Your Kindle" option in Kindle settings. (Menu > Settings > Menu > Update Your Kindle)

My kindle paper white 2021 is on 5.14.0. Do I need to upgrade to 5.14.1.1 or 5.14.2 in order to jailbreak?

Yes. The same exact question was answered at least 50 times before. Manually update to 5.14.1.1

The settings are greyed out and calibre does not connect to it.

Hi, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Kindle basic 2019 model (I think that's the latest on sale? With a micro USB port). The serial doesn't seem to match many on the databases I've seen, it seems closer to the Kids model they sell, but it is the standard new kindle basic mode. The serial is 'G090 VB___' .

I hope I provide any information needed, if I remember.

I have managed to get into demo mode, etc, but copying the files over at stage one, it does not load the files or start the initial jb / payload once I press 'Done'. I have rebooted several times (over many hours), and tried to load the files again as advised from the demo menu, even without connecting to a PC.

The gesture / swipe often doesn't work, after dozens of tries, it will sometimes work.

I have also tried the Factory reset folder option, that doesn't work.

I seem to be stuck in demo mode no matter what I try. The settings command works, but exiting demo mode usually the settings symbol is greyed out.

I used the KT4 files mentioned early on in this thread as someone asked what the most recent (2019?) or later Kindle basic needed.

Please could someone help me out. Is returning to Amazon an option, it is new. But in demo mode.

You need to create a file ("DO_FACTORY_RESTORE", so without any extension) not a folder. At the root level of Kindle drive.
Then (after disconnecting from your computer) force a reboot by holding the power button for 20 seconds.

I'm weary of attempting the jailbreak again, I did follow the instructions, have modified other devices in the past.

That feeling when you think you bricked a device, no matter how much it cost, is a bad feeling.

Can we change the "double finger tap" in the instructions to "two finger tap"? The latter is the way you describe that action in English. @katadelos

In case my new Kidnle PW4 comes with a fw > 5.14.2, is it possible to downgrade, so I can still jailbreak it?
