Did you update with the Update_hotfix_watchthis_custom.bin file at the end of the "Jailbreak" procedure?

Either that means I didn’t apply renametobin properly, or this is what is supposed to happen with this jailbreak when you’re on the most recent firmware possible for jb.

I can confirm that I received it after restart. I applied renametobin with the old layout, after I installed mrpackages + KUAL. I restarted a couple of times since then and no update snuck in, so I'm assuming it's all good. Glad I'm not the only one who prefers the new layout

You have a kindle that was sold at a discounted price in return for agreeing to view "spacial offers". You need to contact amazon support about removing "special offers" or signing in to amazon.com, go to your devices and content page and click on remove special offers. There is a $20 charge.

Hello! I have a KV 5.13.6, and got stuck in demo mode (because I made the foolish mistake of selecting en_US and not en_GB from the get go).

To get back to square one and start over with the right language, I have tried to factory reset my device several times by a couple of different methods:

1. I tried entering USB drive mode, creating an empty folder titled DO_FACTORY_RESTORE, and rebooting. This hasn't worked--should it be a file as opposed to a folder? What kind of file?
2. I also tried the "resell" option from the advice of another thread.

Neither seem to be working.

I then tried winter_clothes' solution to make the jb files en_US compatible but no dice there.

Any thoughts? Have I irreparably messed up my poor Kindle in my quest for functional collection management?

Yes it worked when I did it. The device will reboot when you switch the language but it stays JB'd.

The directions say empty file. An empty file is empty and has no kind.

Amazon rep can also do it for free if you ask. I've had my PW4 and Kindle Basic both ads removed without any charge.
