Never mind, I found it: it's La Belle Dame Sans Merci, by Keats. There is a lady in the title but she's in French

The Lady of Shalott? I remember reading it in high school and enjoying it, but that's about it.

I have been trying to remember a book about a old, dying man, who has his brain transplanted into a younger body. I think he was also very rich. It made a deep impression on me when I read it in the '70s. I thought it was Robert Silverberg "To Live Again", but I read that recently and it did not ring any bells.

It is about a book i read some time ago, cant remember title/writer :-(
It is about a government run operation to cover up all 'weird' magic/undead/psych abilities and other stuff connected. One of the story plot-points that maybe gives a clue is the scene that the main character climbs a ladder to change the board that says xxx days without vampires, later on he has the shameful duty to restore the nr of days without, because it was not a vampire 'outbreak' after al, but a different kinda creature ;-).
I don't know if it is any use to post more details?
It was a secret department hidden behind a coffee-shop/cinema..
The main character has the ability to 'see' (relive?) the past of certain items he touches, and has a partner that can see dead people.
One of the big things they where fighting against was a Cult, spiritsniffing was als one of the things, compressed spirit energy turned people into junkies when used..

[edit]
'bureaucratic' secret agency, there desks are constantly filled with piles of forms to fill out ;-) No high priced tech gadgets, more like a total lack of it (money is always running tight, budget cuts are the day to day reality), and a lot of inner department struggle , also a very old society that takes the guy in (works kinda in/with the department), but i can not remember what it was called :-(
[/edit]
It is a humorous kinda story i liked a lot, and wanted to find out if he/she had wrote some more.

My friend read a book some years back, more than anything it had sentimental attachments to the book. He can't seem to remember the name of the book at all. But is desperately trying to find it. The search is on for the last 3 years. Below is a short synopsis of all that he can remember (i know its not much) but if anyone could help.. please.

"A secret treaty was signed for HongKong.. there were two copies of the treaty.. the one with the Chinese (probably) is lost and the other one is lost on its way to Britian.. There is an air crash .. and a search for the treaty..."

the treaty was signed for 99 years.

novel based around the independence of Hongkong.

I know its very limited info but Please someone.. any clue?

Maybe one of Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels, sorry can't remember which...

On second thoughts, agree with above - Higgins, On Dangerous Ground, A Sean Dillon novel

Okay, here's my puzzler. I remember reading this book probably 20 years ago in paperback. It was sci-fi, and I thought it was called "Nightflyers" or something like that. I've seen the listings for George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers novella, and I don't think it's the same thing. The one I'm thinking of was set on a spaceship (mostly) headed for Nemesis (I think)--a new 10th planet. I seem to remember that for some reason the crew had to destroy the ship at the end, stranding themselves.

Any ideas?
