My intention was not to be a blazing sheriff and I apologize for my ineffective communication.
In order to get involved in a conversation "as it is going on" I have to back-read at least a bit. I didn't read all 182 pages, but no one likes it if someone pops up in the middle and asks a bunch of questions that have already been asked. This is not the only thread I have read or commented on. I am well aware none of us are children, but adults are perfectly capable of getting "snarky-cranky." I know RobertB is on hiatus, I inferred that from previous postings. Anyway, I don't anticipate having much else to say until the device becomes available for pre-order, so I guess "this is a vacuous post, meant only in [sic] increasing my post count." |

Robert, I hope this means that you are enjoying your time and choice of activities rather than time on Astak's clock doing other things. ![]() Yes, hope, hope, and hopefully. I did over-use the word, but could not think of another at the moment. While I tend to plan for the glass to be half empty, I notice the glass half full people tend to have so much more fun so I try to be that way whenever I can and hope is such a big part of it. Well, I have finally got a mobile device (as I've mentioned a few posts back) that uses a rechargeable battery. All my current mp3 players are AAA batteries.
So, I've charged it with the usb cord on my computer, and I thought of a question for those of you who know. There are usb chargers that plug into the wall, to charge devices like this. Are they universal for volts/amps. In other words, can I use the same plug-into-the-wall usb charge for all my devices (one now, plus the Pocket Pro just as soon as it is available)? If so, does the Pocket Pro come with a plug-into-the-wall charger? If not, I'll pick one up soon. We miss you RobertB, hope you are (1) resting up, and (2) working hard to get the Pocket Pro, et al, ready. AJ ![]() |

what I can tell you. usb power is always going to be the same voltagage.(as long as you are using the same verson of usb that is ie v2 right now. v3 will up it a bit.) so a wall to usb sould work with any device you have that being said there are a number of end point of usb the common end points are mini, micro, usbB(full size usb). but there is a few more that some compainys like to use to make you buy there stuff like. ExtUSB for htc. verison uses one too dont know what it is called |

And since the EZ Reader comes with one, I would assume that the Pocker Pro also does. |

the way it work and why it work is usb has a number of unit each at 1v for usb 2 and 1.5v for usb 3.0(coming out this year. more use next year likly) any usb can request up to 5 units on usb 2 and 6 units on usb 3.0 not realy sure how they are going to handle uping the power output per unit of usb3 with usb2 devices. thoght I saw somthing about procket using mini or mico usb...but that may have been mini or mico sd. |

Wow, I am back, and the room isn't looping in my mind anymore. 14 hours of solid unconciousness can do a world of good. I feel much more like my old self again.
I'm hungry. I think I'll go get some Taco Bell. 4 Double Deckers, 3 Mexi Melts and a Large Pepsi should hit the stop.. er.. spot. Hopefully Robertb feels as refreshed as I do after his hiatus. |

I never had a problems with USB power until I got my CVSCX-9300 Quad-band watch phone. A normal USB-Mini ( or is it micro, not sure) connection, the kind I use to charge/connect my Creative Zen, will cause my watch to automatically turn off. I can;t turn it back on until I remove/replace the battery, which resets it somehow.
Also, a different USB cord that I have will give it a connection warning after a minute, sort of like a 'containment breach' scenario. The only cord I can use to charge/connect the phone watch is the cord it came with. None other. I'm thinking it might be USB 1.0 or something. I'm not sure. |

Antsy would be a word to describe some people. Personally, I really want to wait for the Pocket Pro, but I'm thinking about picking up the 6" model and then trading it out on ebay once the 5" comes out.
