Valloric,
On the subject of font embedding, it looks as if something is not working. Take for example Zelda's "Three Men in a Boat" (fontin embedded). The preface and the summary at the start of each chapter should be in italics. When you look at it in book view, it shows in normal (by the way, the same happens in Calibre's book viewer). If you remove font embedding from the style sheet, italics are restored. I beleive this problem already existed in previous versions, in fact, you can see it in the screenshots posted in Sigil's site. In my Sony 505 it shows as intended. @Pablo: that's another problem completely, and out of Valloric's hands. It's a bug on QT's libraries, that Valloric has been trying to get fixed by Nokia people at least since last year... calibre's ebook viewer show the same behaviour, and that's because it's based on the same libraries.

Font variants won't display in the Book View, but they'll show up in Reading Systems when the epub is saved. So the epubs you make work fine. Even though I reported this issue about two freaking years ago to Nokia, it seems that just a couple of days ago someone started working on it (at least it seems that way from the recent activity on the webkit tracker). |

I suspected something of the sort when I found Calibre's viewer behaving in the same way. Sorry to bother you with this, truth is I've been using Sigil just to save as ePub until recently, but lately I've been using it more and more for editing, so now I notice things that I had overlooked before.
Thanks again for this fantastic program. |
