Details are sparse. It doesn't look as though the device brings anything new to the table that we don't already have from iRex/Sony/Amazon - but I thought it was interesting just the same.

Tim
I've been trying to add some info about it on the Read An E-Book Week website but details on the reader are sparse indeed! I can't find out anything about it - even on the Samsung site.

Maybe they've decided not to continue with it - given the economic downturn.

Well...

It might be the similar to what's already out there but the screen looks a bit better then the PRS-700. If it supports multi-formats then this will rock Sony's world. As for no buttons, I like that - there's no need for buttons if you have a good touch screen. Play with the PRS-700 for a while and you'll understand that concept pretty well.

Well Except for the Home, Font Size, and Option Buttons on the 700 year.. (though of course all those can be soft implemented into the touch screen.

According to the website they refer you to (http://www.mobiebook.com), the Astak is a rebranded Hanlin V3. They renamed it for the American market.

Yes, just saw that on another thread. But, that is the current device we know all about. I want to see/hear about the planned new stuff.

Perhaps its running WinCE, which might (or might not) allow some of the existing 3rd party ebook apps for WinCE to work.

I feel like I've already seen this device. Weird, dejavu.

It is pretty clean looking.
