PhilDick--look in settings on your Vox. Go to Kobo eReader Settings and then Set up Kobo Reader. The new version of Kobo installs from there rather than the Android App on GetJar.

I'm having the same problem on my Motorola Xoom. I've been reading books on Kobo for months and then I upgraded to Android 4.0 but now I can't open my books...same error message. I have registered the issue with Kobo and they said they're escalating to tier 2 support. I am a tech support guy so I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. If I log into a computer or an iPad I can read the books with no problems. There seems to be an Android issue here (the Vox is also Android but version 2.3). Other people with the Xoom who upgraded are having the same problem with Kobo.

When I reinstalled the app for the 3rd time I noticed that they have issued a patch that upgrades Kobo so that it's Android 4.0 (ICS) compatible...but it doesn't seem to work anyway!

We'll see what Kobo does next...

Actually, it doesn't. I've gone through that process several times, when I go to help in the kobo app, it still says Version 1.0.1.

Could you explain more fully how that Setup Kobo Ereader installs a newer version of the app?

I'll Describe more clearly my process.

1) Press Menu (series of horizontal lines) button
2) Select Settings
3) Select Kobo eReader settings
4) Press Set up Kobo Reader (Only other option is "Start at my Library")
5) Press Get Started
6) It already sees my network, press next
7) It already has my date/time, press next
8) It already has my kobo account, press next
9) I don't want touse facebook, press skip
10) Congratulations, your Kobo eReader setup is complete!

Where was I supposed to get an upgraded version of kobo app?
