Which is how Dark Mode works. Dark Mode is only active when reading. To older Inverts Screen acts throughout the UI, but, it inverts images as well.

And how this works has nothing to do with NickelMenu. All NickelMenu does is to give you a way to turn these modes on and off.

Misread this and only realised what had probably happened from the other post. I suspect you have also turned on Invert Screen. That affects everything.

Exactly, Invert Screen was turned on. Turning it off fixed the problem. Thank you for your reply.

Does invert work in 4.30.18838 on a Forma?

I have the following lines:

I have these setting:

And Invert Screen doesn't appear to do anything. Dark Mode does work.

Invert screen has changed with the introduction of Dark Mode. You have to reboot the device for it to take effect.

If you mean the stock icon for Nicklemenu, yes. Read back in the thread there are a few times it gets described.

If you mean the menu icons Kobo includes by default, I don't think that's in the scope of NM, but you can try NickleIcons. Though I'm not sure if it'd still work, as it has been quite some time since it was created/updated and we've had numerous firmware upgrades since, including several 1.x upgrades.

Is there a way to use NickleMenu to open the last book? With DarkMode not being activated during reading, I'm thinking I could (when reading):

DarkMode invert
Chain to My books
Chain Open last book

I have same issue as John F above. I manage to toggle the dark mode checkbox (Libra 2), but need to close and reopen book to trigger it, which defeats purpose of trying to save a few clicks

I have another question: is it possible to change font and/or font size with nicklemenu? The ideal would be to be able to change font, font size, brightness, and toggle dark mode with one menu click. That way, you can have different profiles for day / night / outdoor / etc.

As a Libra 2 owner you don’t need to use nickelmenu to toggle dark mode. You have it in the reading settings in any book you have open.

Toggling via nickelmenu works but until geek finds the time to update it the dark mode toggle is going to require you to exit the book and return or toggle it from outside and go in. It’s a known issue.

note that you can save one step (the exit) by chaining to My Books.

Hello,
One small question, please. I just noticed, in the One Click Install package, that there may be more config files in the folder. I do like this idea, as it allows for better flexibility. My question is on the order of the items in the menu if there are more config files there. With one file only, the menu items are given in a top down order. But for more files, is the alphabetical order of the file names the criterion, or what I noticed is only a coincidence?
