Thanks for the correction. Yes, that's a lot more, thus making it less attractive to some.

Hyperlinks, yes. Pictures, probably not; most book readers which support HTML only seem to support single files - they don't support external links to images, etc.

I disagree - 36mm in one dimension and 10 in another is very significant in a handheld device!

Not that I'll buy it as my 505 suits my perfectly but I just thought that the dimensions were different enough to warrant a comment.

Click on the "english" link (top right) for an automatic translation. Not really worth doing though.

It is more expensive than jetBook reader. jetBook unit available now for $299 on NewEgg.com (Black and White colors) or Magellans.com website (Red color)

I'm waiting for someone to make a 5" version that fits in the pocket (no need for anything else then next/previous page buttons and Menu and a couple shortcut buttons. It also needs a Wacom stylus touch-screen for annotations and for the Interface. And HSDPA for wireless content downloads.

As referenced in a teleread post, a new press release in English is here.

I was not aware that it had a touch screen, but 167 ppi is what the 6" screens have (so this must be wrong).

Well this is going in the wrong direction for me i wouls rather see some 7 or anothe 8 inch device. If you really want something that portable you might be better off putting up with and lcd screen and just reading on a smart-phone.

It is, of course, 200 ppi. Many people who publish specs have no idea what the words mean.

Well 5" is twice as big (or even more) than a cell-phone screen. Portable is the goal and a 5" may be big enough for some while a 6" may be too small for others. Not everyone has to buy the same device or dictate what everyone else has to like.

It's interesting if this unit will be available in US or it is for Chinese market only.
I'm not sure if it has English interface or not.
