Newbie strife

I didn't think it would take me long to have a problem - and I now have two to put to the experts. Firstly, I accidentally removed a book I'd bought from the library on my KoBo Wireless. It still shows up as a file on my kobo in Windows Explorer, but I can't see it in the list of books on screen nor access it. I've tried to re-add it to the the device - with no luck at at all.

Also, whilst I've managed to strip DRM from some books I've bought by use of a plugin, Calibre reports that it cannot open a 'megapack' of SF stories I bought, stating that it is DRM protected.

Any advice would be welcome, I'm feeling a little out of my depth!

One challenge is that we're not meant to discuss DRM removal here

You MIGHT though care to Google "Apprentice Alf" and add his plugin to calibre and try that. If you do, make sure to remove the book you have already tried to import before re-adding it.

Thanks - my problem is that the book I'm having a problem with was supposed to be DRM free!. I'm working through advice gleaned here, and I'll see how I get on.

Hmmm already DRM free... Ok that is strange. Try running it through the DRM removal process just in case... if you haven't already tried that that is.

Well, I reset the Kobo and started again. The two problem books loaded just as easily as all the rest, and I can stop tearing my hair out. Thanks for the hints and suggestions - I'm beginnig to learn how to drive this thing!
