Not sure why it would be against guidelines on how to use a plugin for a freeware program - but so be it -- sorry.

You can certainly provide step by step instructions on how to plug a python script into Calibre. But, you can NOT post step-by-step instructions on how to remove DRM. Please follow our rules and guidelines.

i installed b&n reader under windows besides my mac version, it seems barnes and noble sometimes delivers files with .pdb extension and sometimes with .epub extension, is there an equivalent script to remove drm from .pdb files, a script that works as an executable and makes .epub out of the input file or is it done in multiple steps?

eReader2html003.py decrypts pdb files. If you google it you should find it. It outputs to a new directory with the html & image files. That will need to be converted to something more usable.

This worked for me to liberate my first Epub purchased from Sony (naturally this is for my own use only). Had to boot into Windows to do it, though. Anybody have modified python scripts or wrappers to get this working in Linux or OS X?

Anybody updated Adobe Digital Editions to 1.7.2 yet? I haven't tested it, but someone from another board updated, then got an error running ineptepub.

I am going to update on one of my computers now, and re-run the ineptkey.

Hopefully no problems.

EDIT: There is definitely an issue. I updated, then removed the old adeptkey, re-ran the ineptkey, then tested ineptepub, and got "Error

Nope. I tested the old key first before moving it to another folder, and re-running ineptkey.

The issue is the older version of ADE will expire in 45 days, and you will have to update.

Perhaps word of this little python script made it back to Adobe..
