Unhappy Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
I am using version 0.7.5 on MacOS X 10.6 and I am getting the following error when trying to convert from a PDF to an ePub.

"Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file"

I never got this error when converting from PDF's to ePub's in the previous version.

How can I fix this error?

The first thing to do is upgrade to 0.7.6. The fontconfig message can be ignored, there should be more to the error log with the actual error.

Hi
i am using calibre version 0.7.17 on my macbook (OS.X) and when trying to convert a pdf file i do not see any progress in the progress bar and when clicking on job details i get Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

How can i fix this?

yeah depending on the size of the input pdf, the progress bar is only updated as each stage of the process finishes, some stages can take a long time.

O oke its a pretty big file (110 MB)
so i guess i will take a lot longer to convert.. i will leave it on now and see what happens

Yes, you can disable splitting in the EPUB output options, but be aware that the resulting file may not work on all readers.
