If you're at all interested in Roman history it's excellent. I thoroughly recommend it.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available to UK buyers in the Kindle store.

Sony store says US only. It's available in the Kobo store for Canadians, but for 9.69 CAD, not discounted to 2.99.

Not my typical read, but I am interested in Roman history and this sounds very likable. Can't beat $3!

I sent Steven an e-mail and had a very nice reply back. He was under the impression that Amazon US sales would only work for people living in the US. I've replied to him and explained what geographical restrictions are, and how they are the bane of the e-book buyer's life. I don't know if it'll achieve anything, but he certainly comes across as being a genuinely nice guy.

Just had a lengthy exchange of e-mails with Steven. VERY nice chap indeed. He confirms what I suspected, which is that it's the usual US/UK distribution rights business. There's a separate UK publisher who doesn't "do" eBooks. He's going to "encourage" them to do so, he says
![]() What an extremely nice author. I'll certainly buy "Empire" as a pbook even if I can't get it as an ebook. |

Thanks. With all the recommendations and the great price, I decided to get it as my Kindle 3 christening e-Book.

First of all, thanks for nothing!
It cost me $23 to get this book!
![]() Well, kinda. I had to have the first book in the Sub Rosa series - Roman Blood - $10 And then this book - Roma - $3 And then the second book in the Eagle series - Under the Eagle - $10 I've been holding off on buying DRM books but these are the ones I've been waiting a long time for. By the way, Under the Eagle was a 2 day read for me, and I'm not a fast reader. You cost me money, but thanks. ![]() |

The $2.99 deal also applies to Canada. Several of his ebooks in the series are similarly at Kobobooks as well (but not Roma).
A Murder on the Appian Way: A Novel of Ancient Rome also sound interesting ... at under $7. |
