Couple of Sony Questions!
Hi All,
I've just got a couple of questions about the Sony EReader range. I've been all over the internet and wherever i go i seem to get different answers!! I want to try and get conclusive answers from people who know what they're talking about, and this looks like the place to get them. Ok, here goes; Which EREaders in the Sony range features wireless internet technology, and what type (3G or WIFI)? Are the 350, 650 and 950 available to buy now? If not, when are the release dates for those models? As i understand it, the main differences between the 350 and 650 are the size, the weight, and the fact the 650 has memory card and SD card slots? The 950 is the largest in the range, features all the above card slots etc, does it also feature wireless internet techynology (WIFI or 3G)? Thats it i think! Probably pretty basic questions to all you experts out there but ive really been struggling to get conclusive information on these bits. Thanks a lot! ![]() Matt |

Only the Daily edition 900/950 support 3G. The 950 will also support wifi.
The 950 is not yet released. It will probably, like the 900, only be available in the US, and is expected in November. The 350 and 650 are available already in some countries (Canada?) and on pre-order in others (UK) but due very soon. Where are you based? Quote:

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the useful reply and information. I wonder why Sony choose to sell the only version with wireless internet capabilities in the US and not the UK? Seems like an odd route to go down especially when the competition offer wireless internet in the UK. I'm based in the UK, and actually work for the leading supplier to libraries in the UK, hence our interest in EReaders. We were looking at the Kindle but found out that Amazon dont offer any trade terms or discounts. We featured the PRS-300 in our catalogue this year and it did fairly well and we plan to sell the 350 and 650 next year. Thanks again |

The 650 will also play MP3's and has a headphone jack for that (ie. no built-in speaker).
