Unable to navigate to a single book using Add Books in 7.17

Hi

I upgraded Calibre today to 7.17 and all of a sudden I seem to only be able to add books using the Add Books from Directories, including Sub Directories options, this means I have to put my new book in an empty folder, and select navigate to that folder.

Prior to today I have always just clicked Add Books and a pop up window would display, and I could navigate to a single book.

Does anyone have any idea why my Add Books window won't appear anymore?

Besides the Creator's answer

Drag a book or books from any folder, onto the Calibre GUI.

reboot your computer

Since it works fine for me this seems like a good solution.

I had no problem on my computer and I didn't have to reboot. I did have to restart calibre after installing before the library rename feature would work. Mayhap that would work? Did you shut down calibre before installing the new version?
