Hi

I'm new to the whole e-reader thing, but I've been reading ebooks for a long time on my laptop.

I'm incredibly grateful to anyone who's taken the time to post about their experiences with different devices - they were very helpful when I was uncertain on which ebook reader to buy.

I hope I'll have a good time here!

Good to have your company, Fruiter. You'd be well advised, I think, to check out the *Which One Should I Buy?* forum here and the impartial user reviews on each device (many have dedicated forums of their own). Also bear in mind, as well as the reader, the availability of books in reader-linked stores. Many titles have geographical copyright restrictions that mean they are unavailable Down Under. Well, in reality I already purchased an e-reader - two days ago, in fact! I spent three hours in that store before deciding on Hanvon's 5 inches WISEreader 526. It has been great so far!

Thank you for your advice anyway! What you say is really true--impartial user reviews are always going to be more helpful than technical details from the product company.

I use the pc versions of most of the reader software on a laptop (kindle for pc, etc). But one day I will upgrade to either the Kindle or the Kobo, I think.
