Another new member - hi
Hello, my name is Gill (Gillian) and I live on Vancouver Island. I am just in the process of choosing my first ebook reader. After reading lots of reviews I decided on the Nook and now find it is not available in Canada. I'm not sure that the newest Kindle is either. It is a bit frustrating!
Anyhow I hope to learn from browsing these forums and thank you all in advance for the information you share.

Hi Gill and welcome to Mobileread. I don't know about the Nook but the Kindle is certainly available from outside the U.S. The new Kindle 3 however has gotten so popular that at the current moment it's out of stock before it has even begun to ship.

Thank you all for the welcome and your comments. I have gone ahead and bought a Kobo. It is charging up for the first time as I type. So far, I like the black, non-glare frame and the light weight. I'll come back in a day or two and let you know how I find it. It is my first ebook, so I don't have anything to compare it to except for other people's reviews.
Now, if that little red light would just hurry up and change to blue.....!
