Nook 2???
I put up a post on deciding between Nook wifi and Nook 3g and one person answered that there was a "Nook 2" in the works. The B&N rep at the store swore that there would not be a "Nook 2," that the nook would be updated by download. What's the scoop? Is it rumors? Does B&N need to keep up with the new Kindle coming out? Should I wait to see what comes out and decide then what to buy? I think I would be happy with the wifi, but now I'm unsure.
Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks! |

There is no Nook 2 as such. Not any time soon.
What *is* on the way (currently undergoing FCC testing) is the *same* Nook with updated 3G. It *might* have an updated screen or it might not; the only know fact is has a cheaper 3G system. FCC testing usually runs 3 months so it's probably due in a couple months. If it doesn't have the a new screen odds are they'll just slipstream it without any announcement. http://www.teleread.com/2010/07/19/n...ng-at-the-fcc/ |

I think the Nook 2 will be like the Kindle 3 , improvements to it's software, maybe some hardware differences, but I don't anticipate anything revolutionary. But you never know.
as I said in the other thread, until someone comes up with the color touchscreen e-ink with no glare or decreased screen contrast, everything else is just re inventing the wheel. |

Nook 2 will be in full color e-ink (4,096 color), available in 7/10/13 inches variant, wifi/4G running Android 3.0 and comes out on November 21, 2010 for $49.95 (yes, all 3 models are same price).
You read it here first. |
