My brand new DR1000S don't turn on
I bought a wall charger(1500mAh-5V as mentioned at my other thread) and charged my brand new DR1000S for about 10 hours but it don't turn on yet.. Even with no light on the device.
As for DR800SG, I had a similar experience but finally its light and it turned on after many hours charging. Should I do charge for more hours? How many hours will be enough for it? I'll post the process after all night long charging. Please tell me your experience or informations about this.. |

bokjeid,
I have certainly bought a couple of worthless chargers. I cut the wire of one and found out that it was only producing 2V despite a stated rating of 5V. If oyou charge it from the USB port of the desktop make sure you are using a ver 2.0 USB. Version 1 doesn't provide power. I use a old Motorola phone charger. The Belkin charger for an iPhone works well too. I has a USB connection into the charger that I change out to the mini-USB cord. I could also charge the DR with an HTC tilt phone charger, but couldn't run the device with it. Hope something works for you. td |

For my device, I bought a somewhat expensive wall charger which says it guarantee its voltage and currency.. Although its surfacial condition was so dirty but it may have no problem usually.. And my device wasn't turned on at the first time and its light, either since I got it. This seems the point of the problem. Its battery seems dead or half-dead just like my last DR800SG's - the Li-ion battery shouldn't be discharged at all for a long time, you know. Therefore, in my view, changing or reviving the battery will be the solution to this problem.. I'd like to leave changing the battery as my last card. So, how can I revive the battery? |

I heared before that a device would not start after is was fully charged from completely empty, as if the battery-controller is somewhat 'confused'. After leaving the device for a few hours to discharge a little the device started again. Maybe that is also your problem. Try to start it in a few hours or tomorrow.

Ah, I flashed into the 'reset' hole and saw that the reset button isn't there - it should have gone away. So I have to open the device and make it repaired. There is a famous mechanic shop to change battery of DR1000S in my country. I'll visit there tomorrow and post the result here.. I could never guess the reset button disappeared;
