Been a member for a few weeks now and I intend to hang around here for a while. Hence, a more thorough introduction of myself might be appropriate. Born a Dane and raised a Swede. Also spent nearly 15 years in Japan and has a PhD in Japanese literature. An E-book reader that can handle Japanese fonts is at the top of my wish list.

Been an avid reader since I could join letters together and pronounce them. Bought a Kindle 2i for the convenience of downloading books directly to the device. Whispernet is Marketing Genius 101 as far as I'm concerned.

Part of my duties include reading treatises and dissertations on literature, so on my spare time I tend towards more escapist content, but I still enjoy a good biography and non-fiction not related to literature.

That was quite interesting news. Unfortunately E-books aren't yet available in Japan, hence it would be limited to PDF material. But it is good to know that there is at least one provider out there. Rumor has it that Amazon is preparing a Kindle for the Japanese market to be sold through Amazon.co.jp in the near future.
