Hello all!
Just bought my wife a nook today. I used one in the store and was less than impressed but she insisted I buy it for her. It is in the box and unopened as I write this.

Just browsed the web for nook problems to get ready for anything that may happen as I am the computer person in the house. I found this forum fairly fast after scrolling past all of the sellers and consumer gadget sites and wish to say hello to all users here.

Has anyone had any problems connecting to a wifi network or had any other hurdles right out of the box with a nook recently?

  1. Welcome to MobileRead.
  2. My Nook out of box experience was really good. I openned and registered it, and it downloaded my B&N Library on the way home from the store (about .5 hours)
  3. I did already have an avccount at the B&N site, however, If you and/or you wife do not, that may slow things down. You need to have a B&N account, with a credit card, even to “purchase” free books from the B&N website. If you do not wish to do so, you can still get free books from a variety of other places.
