Samsung E-6 US Release Doubtful

http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/

"And with that, the Samsung E-6 ebook reader has been officially removed from the JR website altogether. With no other retailers in the US, it doesn’t look like it will be coming to the US any time soon."

Yea its a shame. The price wars have definitely hurt a lot of secondary eReader developers.

Yes, but Samsung can't be considered as "secondary". They are a giant.
It sounds weird to me that they can't make an effort (= lower price).

They're selling the E60 in Europe at 329 € : that's crazy!

Yea, true they are a giant corporation. But they are secondary in terms of their focus on the eReader market. Amazon, BN, and even Apple have invested a lot into developing their eReaders and bookstores. But since I am not too familiar with Samsung's future plans in the eReader market, maybe you could still have a point.

This readers sucks!
It's much to heavy, the slider doesn't work properly, you can only browse to the e-book store Samsung selected for you via your own Wifi, etc.

You don't miss a single thing, I hope they design a better product, and then release it worldwide at a proper price.

I think Samsung considered Sony as their rival and not Kindle, so they said: "yeah, let's make it better than their PRS600: let's make a better touchscreen + stylus (= without glare) and add WiFi. We'll beat them this way".
Then they said: "Let's make a 9,7" version!"
In the meanwhile prices dropped dramatically (both Kindle and Kindle DX, who almost killed their 699 $ E101 9,7" ereader), and now they have to reconsider it all. They did not understand they had to be cheaper than Sony (I think Acer understood this).
