I lost my iPod Touch :(
...and I'm sick to my stomach about it. I haven't even had it that long.
It has the passcode engaged but I'm sure a techy person could crack it. Hope whoever picked it up it and didn't turn it in to lost and found likes paranormal romance books! Hopefully the universe will return their bad karma to them one day. I didn't engage the 10 tries and delete option, but I definitely will with the next one. I changed my email passwords and any passwords that I could think of for bookmarked sites. Not sure what else I can do except crawl under the bedcovers and cry. ![]() I wish they had some type of tracker on them. I need chocolate...lots of it. |

Was there any kind of info on it that would let whoever found it try and return it to you? Most people are honest. Most. Here you go.......take your pick.......or take them all. ![]() |

Thanks grandma! I needed that.
I was really hoping beyond hope that it would be found by one of those honest people, but when I went back to McDonalds where I lost it, nobody had turned it in. I didn't have any ID on it. Ironically, I do have my name and number on my Sony reader but never got around to putting it on my iPod. However, they could have just brought it to the McDonalds manager to put in the safe in case someone came to claim it (like me!). |

Okay.......so you've learned a painful lesson. And yes, people can be buggers. I was just hoping the one who found yours wouldn't be.
Check back in a couple of days in case they changed their mind......you never can tell! Now...get your head out of that chocolate box, take a deep breath, and start saving for another device. I'm betting you don't lose IT! ![]() |

Oh no! mish, I am so sorry.
I know that sinking feeling in your stomach and wanting to live beneath the blankets. ![]() I have some friends that attach them to lanyards so they never set them down and forget them. Their kids have to wear them for school badges so their kids add them to that. Maybe something like that for the next one? I hope that person or persons who picked it up decides to do the right thing and return it. I always feel chocolate helps.. {{BIG HUGS}} |

Yes, it is my own stupid fault, which makes it so much worse. I have a terrible habit of putting things down and forgetting to pick them up. I once put my purse down in the grocery store to look at something on the shelf then walked off without picking it up. gah! I had a shopping basket on my arm so maybe my brain was thinking I was already holding it. That time the universe was kind to me and an honest person picked it up and brought it to the service desk...phew!
Dreams, I think I will try that lanyard idea. I do try to always put it back in my purse when I'm done so I don't do this, but apparently I didn't this time. Thanks for the chocolate and hugs. ![]() I go there for lunch a lot so I'll check again just in case. Maybe they will bring it back if they can't get past the passcode lock. |

For what its worth the Cyber security journals tell me that there are a few hardware that tend to be theft targets. AS a general rule the ones that are likely to get stolen are: ipods, ipads, kindles and Sony PRS readers. This is because they are successful and highly recognizable items. I doubt my Aluratek Libra Pro would be a theft target, who has heard of Aluratek anyway.

No worries there...I'd rather put that $100 towards a new iTouch! They do have a free trial though...hmmm. It looks like I need to have another iTouch, iPad, or iPhone to use it though.

I would probably lose a nano in about... well, a nanosecond! lol! Waaay too tiny! I already lost one of the exchange tips for my gomadic charger, but that is somewhere in the house at least.

In the words of ex-president Bill Clinton "I feel your pain." On the more practical side ipods tend to be theft targets, thieves actually roam public places looking for ipods and ipads for theft. My recommendation is to replace it with something like a Sandisk Fuze or View, you get better quality at a fraction of the cost plus Fuzes don't get ripped off like ipods do because who has ever heard of a fuze. Unfortunately Kindles, even though they are great things, they are theft targets as well. Thieves recognize Kindles on site and actively target them. My Libra Pro, while not as good as a kindle is not a theft target because who has ever heard of a Libra Pro?

Duh. I fished my Touch outta a pocket last night, after I'd throw my pants in the washer. Good thing I hadn't started the wash yet.
