Firmware Update I have the k2i .bin file for 2.5.2...

And apparently it works. It' is for K2I 2.3.4, so if you have a previous version you'll have to upgrade to 2.3.4 first (files are floating around here somewhere) Then it will update to 2.5.2.

If you're at 2.3 or 2.3.2, you need to update to 2.3.3 first:

If you're at 2.3.3, then you will need to update to 2.3.4:

http://rapidshare.com/files/38279404...2_gw_2.3.4.bin

Once you're at 2.3.4 you can download and install 2.5.2

In my K2 international, I went from 2.3.4 to 2.5.2

I updated to 2.3.4. Then I renamed the downloaded 2.5.2 bin file to Update_kindle2_gw_2.5.2.bin, copied to my kindle, updated fine.

Thank you so much, works like a charm. Updated successfully from 2.3.4 to 2.5.2 on my K2i - there's no restrictions on my internet-access anymore!

Thinking about that maybe that was the main reason for Amazon to roll yout the update step by step.

Cause they would like to keep the risk down what happens when they open whispernet for all. Maybe they checked if the roaming data would burn their money
