ConsumerSearch.com Ereaders Report
Hello to All,
Now I'm not 100% certain this is the right place to post this, but since this is a kind of buyers guide, I figured it made the most sense for those of us still looking for what to buy. A site called Consumer Search has recently updated their report on ebook readers. What they do is examine review sources and make recommendations based on the reviewers' recommendations. It's like a summary of the review information, basically. They also include their list of sources, so anyone interested in reviews on ebook readers from places like MacWorld, PCMag, and CNET can find links in the "Our Sources" section. Their findings: Best E-book Reader: Amazon Kindle Best Touch Screen Reader: Sony PRS-600 Best Budget Ebook Reader: Sony PRS-300 Best Tablet Computer/Ebook Reader: iPad Again, it's not Consumer Search per se but the results of all the reviews that they read. There's some quality control going on there regarding the review sites, so this may be of interest to people. Rainbow P.S. They've got links to these forums and the wiki on the "Useful Links" page. ![]() |

In the discussion of the runner-up Nook, this was mentioned, "However, the Nook does have one big advantage. Unlike the Kindle, which makes it difficult to buy books from any source except Amazon, the Nook reads most major ebook file types."
A primary reason for Consumer Search choosing the Kindle was that the controls were more intuitive. This is like having a car with user friendly controls that you can't drive on the highway. They have their priorities. I have mine. |

+1 on this that is another critic that makes my head scratch. How can these gadget techie reviewers have trouble finding the Nook intuitive when the average layman gets the hang of it after less than an hour and ends up loving the navigation and also don't these guys review smart phones, OS's , different laptops and the Nook is confusing? Hmm I want to pick up where I left off reading hmmm what should I press? Well there is that Reading Now button but I don't know, Hmmm I'm in the airport and I want to buy a book, hmm what button do I press, there is that "Shop" button, but I don't know. ![]() |
