Formatting & updating
Hi!
I'm rather new to Calibre - I've got a bunch of ePubs that I manage using Calibre, but I'm not sure how to change the formatting. ![]() ![]() If you look at the 2 pictures, the first one is a book that has spaces on the sides that makes the book comfortable to read, whereas the second picture is an ePub where the sides doesn't have spaces, and my eyes usually will glance at the distracting white sides (which reflect) when I read in the sun. Is there any way to make the second ePub the same as the first ePub? Pardon the poor description of my problem, I don't know how else to describe it >_< Also, I'm wondering, how does one go about updating Calibre? I'm currently on ver. 0.6.51. When I go to the download page, it only attempts to install a new copy of Calibre, which I don't need. Any advice? Thank you in advance! Last edited by Khai; 06-09-2010 at 03:38 AM. |

On updating, that's how it works -- you download the new version and install it over the old.

body { margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 5%; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 5%; } If it works you can adjust the % to suit you. If that doesn't work you could open up the first ePub in Sigil and see how it specifies the left and right margin. Then open up the second ePub and see if you can make one resemble the other. If the above doesn't work you could Google "CSS margins" and see how else you can attack this need. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 06-09-2010 at 06:26 AM. |

Hmmm I tried adding your CSS and increasing it to 20% but to no avail. It still remains the same. Do I manually convert? Because I used Batch Convert (I have 34 books to do this to

Always test one book before batch. First make sure it works on that single book. Last time I checked, the settings for a single book overrode bulk settings, so you're better off testing a single book where your settings always apply.

You can also try removing stored conversion settings in the bulk edit screen
