kindle or ipad

Hy out there!

I live in a place where there are no new books nor magazines. I am an avid reader of books and magazines. I am sure that I need an e-reader, but I am between those two. As far as I can see the advantage of kindle is that you can read for hours without getting tired. But I don´t like the idea of reading magazines on black and white. The ipad, instead seems to be a good option for magazines but not so much for books, due to the backlight screen. What do you think? Is it posible to read for hours on the ipad? Are books easily downloadable and converted with ipad? Are there so many books with the ipad format? Are magazines easily downloadable? I´ve read that zinio is a little slow. Advice please!! many thanks

I've got my iPad only Thursday last week.
It's a great gadget.
But it's surprisingly heavy.
And most of the time I'm reading, while commuting.
I don't think, iPad's battery even will make 6 hours of train ride - no way it does the 1 or 2 weeks I have on my ePaper readers.
So I'd mainly ask myself: When will I be reading what for how long?
Reading some websites for 30 minutes on the couch surely works great on iPad. Reading 4 hours while "on the road" - I don't think so.
I guess, I'll travel wit a combo of iPad and a highly mobile ePaper reader, for example PocketBook 360 or Cybook Opus.
I have a WiFi flatrate for German trains. So I'll surf on my iPad, I'll answer my emails on it. But I'll keep reading on ePaper displays.
