so been about 6 weeks since the ipad's release, far more apps out now than there were. what are people still using these days? post your top 3 and maybe discover something new.
1. newsrack (catch up on my daily rss feeds) 2. todo (excellent todo list manager that syncs with iCal) 3. words with friends hd (fun scrabble to play against friends) sadly, none of the reader apps make my list. as much asi enjoy reading on my ipad, they all still have their flaws.. |

It is very disappointing, because I was looking forward to having that Amazon selection. |

Amazing astronomy apps: GoSkyWatch (free) and Star Walk ($4.99)
They use your coordinates to show you what's in the sky above you. Updates as you move and rotate. Wow. Even if you're not into astronomy, the freebie is very cool to check out. I have loads of apps, but nothing sexy. All practical. Love the reader apps and news apps most. I love WolframAlpha for its geeky stats and such, but I found the app more limiting than going to the Web site. Last edited by Maggie Leung; 05-21-2010 at 02:44 PM. |

NY Times Editors Choice is number 1 for me. That, a couple other news apps, and the web browser are about all I use on my girlfriend's iPad these days. Occasionally a game like Solitaire etc.
On the browsing front, Atomic Web Browser is nice, doesn't work with my Novell Groupwise webmail site though--Safari does. So I use Atomic for surfing and Safari to check my work e-mail. Some lesser used apps I find useful: Epicurious recipe app is still handy, though neither of us has made use of it yet as we haven't had time to shop and cook. Now Playing--nice for checking movie show times and reviews. Last edited by dmaul1114; 05-21-2010 at 03:06 PM. |

A fun app that no one needs: Corkulous.
It's made by Appigo, the same people who make Todo (which I also use.) It creates a virtual corkboard...or multiple ones that can be nested and PW protected if you wish where you can peg photos, notes, tasks, etc. in a pleasing visual way. The boards can be exported or emailed as a PDF file if you want. I'm a heavy random notes taker (eg. copy&paste quotes from books I'm reading, etc.) and I'm finding Corkulous to be a great replacement for the Notes app. |

Thanks, just bought it and using it now. Oddly it doesn't show the cursor when posting this message... oh, now it is after switching from settings and then back to this tab. I guess it has some kinks to get worked out, but the tabbed browsing is nice, and being able to download files will be a useful feature. I'll probably stick with Safari as my main browser and just use iCab when I have a specific need for it.

yeah the download feature is very very nice. i don't have to bookmark a page and come back to it later just to download some pdf or small file.
