I broke my kindle.
So the screen on my Kindle 2 is not working at all, with parts of it frozen and other parts having lines across it. Based on some remembering of the menus, I know it still works, at least for TTS, but I can't use the screen.
So since I know someone here has had to go through CS to get their Kindle fixed, could someone help me figure out how much it would cost to get it fixed? It should still be in warranty since I got it for Christmas this past year. So any help would be nice. |

Do call Kindle Customer Support.. I dropped my Kindle on a concrete floor after less than a month of ownership and cracked the screen. I called, explained the problem (confessing that it was my fault) and they shipped another one and it arrived in a couple of days. Emailed me a shipping label for UPS. Dropped the broken one off and haven't had problems since.

If your kindle is less than one year old, they'll send you a new one, and you send the broken one back in the packaging supplied... If you're in US you might have an extended warranty...
Call them, and they'll keep you a happy customer... The kindle is only 'small' on their budget... The book are 'big'.. ![]() |

Well, that didn't work. They were helpful, but apparently, they can't send out a free replacement. And since I don't have $135, I guess that's the end of my Kindle. I'll probably call again later and try to get a different person.

Call the kindle support number, 1-866-321-8851 and run your story again, and if they say no, say you have read on Amazon forums that other people have received a replacement for the exact same circumstances and why dont you qualify.

And now I get to do the happy dance because I can get a new Kindle. Once explaining that it was both in the case and in a bag, I got that sorted out. So now just 2 days of Kindle Withdrawal. On the other hand, now I lose 2.5 until the end of the month probably.
