Hello from the state of North Virginia

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an avid reader, but tend to get distracted easily. My wife and I will shortly be the recipients of two new Nooks, courtesy of some very generous parents who are helping us celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.

I'm a tech nerd (DrJamba) and I wish I had more money because one cannot own too many gadgets.

My wife (MrsJamba) is a law student and selected the Nook for its ability to read more formats. She's anticipating being able to download textbooks and other legal materials so she doesn't have to lug around 100 lbs of books.

See you in the forums.

Good to have your company, DrJamba. You have generous and thoughtful parents. Hope you and your wife soon settle in with your new readers and that we'll hear much more from you. Best wishes and here's to your next twenty happy years. Congratulations! Neil

Welcome to you and the wife, and greetings from Alaska =) I think you'll find this is one of the most friendly bunch of gadget and book lovers you could ever have come across, so you should fit right in!

So there is now 51 states in the United States now? Hmm I should pay more attention. I thought there was only 50 states. But with northern Virginia's secession from Virginia and becoming its own state. We obviously have 51.

Welcome to MobileRead.

LOL, you beat me to it!

It should probably be its own state actually, now that I think on it more...

Hi DrJamba and welcome to MobileRead from another NOVA citizen. In fact, we've had a couple of Meet Ups here and it's about time for another.

Hello Drjamba and welcome to MR.

Congratulations on the (hopefully shortly) arrival of the Nooks. For any queries about those, check out the subforum.

I agree with you on the gadgets - I love them. I just can't justify buying them all as I usually get bored with most of them after a few weeks and start looking for the next newest gadget. Wish there was a gadget library.

You ain't kidding. Northern Virginia is as different from southern Virginia as West Virginia is to the whole of Virginia.

Cheers.

Thank you to all for your kind and warm welcome.

It seems that our Nooks are in transit and we should be receiving them Monday or Tuesday (I'm hoping Monday).

I look forward to a Summertime meetup. Since the state of North Virginia is a vast land area, are the meetups usually centrally located?

Here's to eReading!
