What is the best way to convert Magazine for iPad/iPhone
Hi guys,
What is your suggestion on converting PDF magazines to iPad/iPhone? Using the standard ePUB conversion setting, the magazine page scans come out as JPEG and not text. Also, the JPEG are compressed and thus the "text" look pretty pixelated when zoomed in. Would appreciate any help. Thanks Sincerely, Bob |

Calibre doesn't do Optical Character Recognition. If your pdf is a simple scan of the magazine, it's a picture, not text, and Calibre will never change it into text. I'd look for a website for your magazine and a matching recipe. Alternatively, you have to run your pdf images through an OCR program to get text.

Acrobat Professional has a built-in OCR recognition feature for PDFs. I have had mixed results using it in limited experimentation.
