Weight on reader messed up screen forever?

We're moving and something got set on my reader and now there is a wide line across and a wide line down the side of the screen that won't display anything. Is there any hope? I reset it, but it's still there. Should I get it fixed or buy a new one?
Thanks, Belinda

Chances are that you broke the screen, which is basically just some thin glass layers. It's probably not going to be fixable, though you should see if Sony will quote a cost to fix just in case it's less than a new reader.

I'm sorry to bring you possbily bad news: Yes, unfortunately, it appears from your description as if the (glass) screen has been broken.

This is a discontinued model and it may be very costly to fix.

can be used for parts if someone needs a battery, casing or mainboard..

i've also been using sections of cracked backplanes to experiment with and build small micro-panels...
