Good Morning Scott!
New day!
Good cartoon! States your point very clearly. I think apple loves the pro and con stuff, because it puts "apple" on the minds of people. And you own stock in APPLE, so you should be LAUGHING all the way to the BAnK!

P.S. You will have to share with us on APRIL 30th as to whether you should have picked up the 3G model or not. I want to see how the GPS feature works on it. Imagine sitting in borders bookstore and seeing the person you are to meet, approaching the store on your IPAD, with TRACKING APP!

hate to tell you rich, i'm happy with my wifi and have no intentions of buying a 3g model. my next apple purchase will be this summer's iphone, then an ipad 2.0 next year.. interesting rumors already spreading that next year's model will feature an OLED screen. can't wait for the next round of eye-strain complaints!

and yes. my apple stock has done pretty well. not so great in the 80's and 90's. but i'm quite happy now.

Yeah I'm very interested to see what the iPad 2.0 brings.

Hopefully the new OS with a central file sharing location, models with smaller and larger screens, wifi dropout issue resolved etc.

I hope it's not just a slightly different screen, more memory at lower cost (phase out the 16GB model), slightly faster etc.

well.. since it shares the OS with the iphone, and 4.0 is due out this summer. i wouldn't expect any radical changes for next year in the OS.

i don't believe the rumors of a smaller screen. why bother? just get a Touch. larger screen is unlikely too for weight issues and the glass screen. i had read an article a few weeks back that discussed the physical and strength characteristics of the glass screen on the existing ipad. the glass becomes far more fragile as the screen size increases and given that this is a hand-held device it's far more at risk to breakage.

oled, possibly, though it will drive up cost. more storage capacity, that's pretty much a given. lower cost. unlikely, with apple's price point tendencies. forward facing camera, pretty much a no-brainer. i'd think possibly some sort of included stylus. surprisingly a few people have commented to me that they'd rather use a stylus than their finger. a finger and hand obscure the screen easier when using it, and some would rather hold a stylus than constantly point. 3.5g/4g is most likely as well, depending on if the carriers can get their acts together and start rollouts in the US.

anyway. i'm sure people will be arguing about it next year as well..

People will always argue over everything. If you don't want to deal with it, you should just leave again and stick with the tightly modded Apple specific sites.

But I do think you're right, I doubt there will be any big changes that will fix my gripe. I probably won't have a tablet until mid to late 2011 when there's some 2nd gen Android or Windows 7 tablets out.

I need something more designed for productivity/business/academic use rather than the straight media consumption/entertainment oriented device that Apple is going for with the iPad.

Thumbs down LOL

Yes Yawn, when there are reasonable priced linux/android tablets that will come out in 6 to 8 months with REAL FLASH internet at 1/3 the cost of the latest and so called greatest maxi pad I might get one but right now the Ipad is a fail because it still not as useful as my year old asus adam based net book. Yawn

Dell Mini 9. $225 with WinXP. It rocks. Nice quality, convenient size. Too bad Dell discontinued it.

That being said, it doesn't make a good ebook reader.

I am looking forward to getting the 32GB 3G iPad; have one on order. It is the size of just the lid of the Dell Mini 9. I am a rabid anti-Apple fan, but 10 minutes playing with one at the Apple store made me decide that I had to have one.

It was very interesting looking at the demographics of the shoppers in the Apple store. Normally, only geeks and gadget-hounds (I raise my hand to acknowledge this) would be interested in a device like this, but the individuals who were playing with the iPads on display definitely weren't in that category. Apple has brought these type of devices into the mainstream; something Microsoft failed at with their UMPCs.

As much as i hate to admit it, I think Apple has a winner, and Apple stock will conitnue to rise. Too bad I don't own any.
