I am sure everyone knows more about Kindle downloads than I do. I am trying to decide how I will know which books I can use on Kindle? I read something about mobi, but I am confused. Will each download tell you its format and how do you know if you can use this paticular one? All help appreciated. thanks

I don't have the Kindle, but you can read the mobi/prc format that the MR Library contains and of course the Amazon ebooks.

MR has free ebooks that have been beautifully handcrafted by some very dedicated MR members.
For your Kindle..Mobi / prc format ebooks - download the MobiGuide and get your books via Whispernet..(up on the top left in the blue bar.. click on ebooks.. then in the drop down menu choose Mobipocket download guide)

Some free ebook sites - feedbooks.com This site also has a Kindle Guide to download and you can get their books via Whispernet - there is a video on how to use the guide.

manybooks.net and Project Gutenburg

Free and for purchase ebooks smashwords.com and baen.com Plus Baen has a great free library

Greetings, cboop99. If you wish to download any of the books on this site to your Kindle, just make sure they are in mobi (*.prc) format, download them to your computer, and drag and drop them into your Kindle's Document folder.
