Question about Libre bookmarks

I don't know if it works this way on the JBL, but on ePub files on the Libre, the list of user created bookmarks looks something like this:

(1) Bookmark [0]
Page: 9

(2) Bookmark [1]
Page: 15

(3) Bookmark [2]
Page: 21

What the heck are those second numbers - the ones on the right in brackets? Do they refer to anything?

Never really paid attention to it! I guess - for bookmark #0, please button #1 etc. etc.?? For bookmark #9 please press ?? button.

That would be true if it actually worked like that.

Pressing tab 0 on my bookmark list does nothing at all; perhaps someone, somewhere, at some time imagined that it could work like that, but it does not.

Yep. Pressing those bracketed numbers does nothing. For bookmark number 1, you press "1", etc. I made two pages worth of bookmarks to see if this changed the behavior. It did not.

On the jetBook, the number to the right represents the zoom rate in points. Does the Libre represent zoom rate by a number instead of point size?

On the jetBook, pressing the number next to the bookmark does in fact select it and go to that page.

Again, the list of bookmarks looks like this, except the number on the left is in a box, not parenthesis:

(1) Bookmark [0]
Page: 9

(2) Bookmark [1]
Page: 15

(3) Bookmark [2]
Page: 21

The numbers on the left are consecutive, and the numbers on the right are consecutive, but one number behind. Pressing the number on the left goes to the page indicated. Pressing the number on the right does nothing.

Like desertway, I checked my Libre on a DRM-epub file I borrowed from the library. Pressing the number on the left goes to the page indicated. Pressing the number on the right does nothing. I usually bookmark the table of contents just to help me navigate through the book

I think the number on the right indicates the actual book mark number. Try generating bookmarks beyond 9 and see what happens. The numbers on the left are the corresponding button needed to be pressed to select that bookmark. On the JB I can select a bookmark by either it's corresponding button number on the left or use the down/up arrow to box the bookmark and then press enter to select it.

Numbers on the left correspond to the button and number on the right to the bookmarks number. On the JB/JBL thye left number is both the bookmark number as well as the action button number. Bookmarks beyond 8 move to another page. It also is a push down system. The latest bookmark is at the top, the oldest at the end of the page stream. The JB/JBL appear to give more info than the Libre per bookmark.
