I believe they are the same device. The firmware may be slightly different.

Onyx is the manufacturer, BeBook is using a (slightly) modified firmware. You can interchange firmware without any problems. Meaning: You can buy whatever's easier or cheaper to get. And then flash whatever firmware you want (back and forth, you can try both). I slightly prefer the BeBook firmware because of the direct link to the bookstores instead of browsing them manually. But it's a hassle to purchase books on the reader anyway. So it was more of a "I had to try it once to see whether it's working" thing. BTW: It IS working. You even can activate DRMed eBooks directly on the reader. But still it's way more convenient to purchase on nook or Kindle via their dedicated bookstores, than using the browser on BeBook/Onyx. But it's great to have WiFi. Last edited by mgmueller; 04-09-2010 at 11:22 AM. |

It's a WACOM tablet. Sony touchscreen can be used with your finger, for BeBook/Onyx you need the included stylus. But BeBook/Onyx has a (very advanced) 5-way-button as well, so you can use all functions even without stylus. |
