Red EZ Pocket Pro(5") - Good or bad?

I saw there is a red 5" EZ pocket Pro. I do like red. My cellphone, my mp3 player. But from the picture of this RED E-reader, it look like not that great for a book lover. Same be give out a very high contrast to the eye. Am I right?

What your thought?

I think it's very much down to an individual's preferences.

I got the red (actually maroon) for my mom who is 83 years old. I played with it for a while before giving it to her. I have the 6" black EZ Reader. I can honestly say I didn't notice any difference between the black or maroon as far as contrast for reading. It isn't a bright garish red, instead it is a deeper, classier red.
The reason I mentioned my mom's age is, as I understand it, as you age contrast becomes more and more important. She has used a black and the maroon. She has mentioned no difference between the two for reading.
And besides, if you are a red lover like me, the read is pretty! Isn't that what is most important!

I work for Astak.

WHEN we first thought of doing a red color we went to this forum. For two weeks people on here hand-picked ALL the colors using what is known as a Pantone Color Chart. One of their main recommendations was: do not do fire-engine red or Christmas-red... it will be TOO bright and TOO glitzy.

The red on the Pocket PRO is clearly a "Maroon"... a red with definite black tone to it. That Maroon is now one of the most popular colors as it looks great yet provides great contrast to the screen. When you get it you will immediately see what I mean. This is not a glossy or flashy red. It is a deep red but much more subdued by the black toning.

It is NOT cellphone red or iPod red!! This is clearly a very subdued red that is shockingly beautiful and FUN to read from!

As of now, I'm waiting for a reply from Customer Service to give me an RMA# so I can get a replacement for it.

Dear All:

Please, just to make sure all know, Dioktin got her Pocket PRO in November and there was a wrinkling problem at that time. The problem HAS been fixed; and all new units in stock do NOT have a paint (wrinkling) problem in any color!

I have a Maroon PP..
beautiful colour, not too bright, and not distracting at all.
No peeling either (i got mine about 2 months ago)

Just handled a maroon Sony erader. A friend at work has one. Nice colour - but it is cold to the touch and heavy compared to PP.

I got my wife a red one for Christmas and she loves it!! The color is very rich looking not at all gaudy I highly recommend this color

I have a maroon (red) PP and it's a great color. Quite subtle, not bright and annoying. No paint issues here either.
