hey
can you dray and drop the .bin firmware onto the SD card WITHOUT connecting the PP to the PC with USB ?

I mean can I stick my SD card into my PC's internal reader and drop the .bin file onto the card, then put the card in the PP and upgrade?

That's the only way I update. I do it that way so I can create folders to keep everything sorted in my library. I've had no problems doing that but transferring through ADE or Calibre would causes freezes for me.

Sorry...yes, I have also done that with the .bin updates too. Like everyone says on here though, keep your old updates somewhere too as a backup.

this is a new unit with OLD firmware, so im not worried about that FW. I'm only updating to DEC, so should be good.

Most certainly
Faster also.

Label and save your old versions just in case.

Forget the original version the PEz shipped with. Even the next version was a big improvement.
