a bit confused....
Hi all! I'm adding some books to my new PP. They are in the ePub format, but when I drag them to my SD card they are listed twice. First like this "._title.epub" then "title.epub" I understand that the one with just the title is the correct files, but is there anyway to get rid of the ._ file?
PS I'm on a Mac Thanks so much!!!! |

I am unfamiliar with the Mac although I know our PP works fine with Mac. I will observe this thread and let others chime in. You are always welcome to call our tech at: 1-866-368-8788. Mainly, I would like to urge you to hold off on purchasing eBooks a spec longer. Tomorrow I finallyshould be able to announce a brand new website that should be excellent! |

It is annoying I agree, happens with the fonts directory too. You'll have to open the terminal, and go to the directory you see these files in, and type rm ._*

You could always use Calibre to manage your ebooks. I don't think you get the resource files when transferring using Calibre, although I don't have a mac so can't say for sure.

This should be easy for Jinke to fix. The Linux "ls" command ignores "dot" files by default, and I can't see any good reason for the EZ Readers to show these at all. No one is going to start the name of an actual ebook with "." and particularly not with "._".
Problem: Mac adds the file ._title.epub for Mac-specific metadata about title.epub. Potential fix: hide the "._" files (i.e. don't list them as ebooks). |

![]() Jinke appears to be doing a ls -la instead of a simple ls -l ( lbook has a nicer "bookshelf display") Why are they showing us "*nix hidden files" at all. It may be more difficult, but bookshelf should honor Windows hidden attribute also. IMHO we should not see "Restore PC" either. |

Yes, but my basic point was that the "dot file is hidden" convention is widely used. As you say, it isn't rocket science to skip dot files, and in fact it is more common to do so than not (except under Windows).
