Ereader wont respond
I have a PRS-505 and while i was on holiday it froze up
Brought it home and followed several tips from this site with no luck the screen is on the main contents page with the sony ying yang symbol on it. Full charge does not give a red light. charged for 2 days (psp charger) soft reset nothing Hard Reset Nothing USB connection Nothing on win7, XP or Vista. No usb means i cannot flash firmware. Any advice? |

Try doing 10 resets in a row. Sounds crazy but sometimes it takes that.
What happens when you try a reset? Does it reset back to the logo or do nothing at all? If it does reset then you should at least be able to use the new unbrick method listed in the third link that krismcewan posted. |

Thanks for that tip
tried the 10 times reset with no Avail. Nothing happens at all when i press reset. The screen is stuck on a slightly corrupt contents page with the yingyang "working" symbol on it. Nothing i try alters that. I have no idea what to do other than let the battery drain naturally and recharge with my fingers crossed. |

I'm having the same problem with my PRS-300. I have it USB'd to my computer, the red light is on and it shows the universal symbol for "don't do it!" in the center with a little symbol underneath showing the USB cord being unplugged. It's been like this for about an hour. All I wanted to do was transfer the new books I bought from the Sony store and it seems like it's stuck. What should I do? I'm afraid to unplug it because I saw somewhere that it would damage the unit. HELP!!!
