Hello All!

I am pleased and honored to be a new member of this great forum.

After doing much research, I looked long and hard to find a used but pristine Sony PRS-505. The 505 is ideal for me as I have no need for all the bells and whistles of the newer readers and the readability and size of the 505 are excellent.

I'm truely amazed at all the talent and time that members have invested in this forum. I'm also impressed with the decorum that seems to be lacking in most forums today.

I look forward to a long and happy relationship with this forum.

Thanks!

Good to have your company, Guido. I'm glad to hear you're happy with your 505. After more than half a century of book-wormhood, I got myself a 505 just under a year ago. Already it's become a real life-changer. I just can't be bothered with paper books any more if there's a digital alternative. You finding the same?

By the way, you've chosen a good time to sign up with MR. It's Read an Ebook Week and there are many, many generous offers on the forums from members. Check out my own below, for instance, if you want to stock up on some reading.

Best wishes. Neil

Yes, the decorum of our forum is pretty impressive, even to us.

Good choice, the 505. I have one also, and love it.

For some reason, that comment reminded me of Singing in the Rain!

Hi & welcome to MR

If you have any questions regarding the reader, check out the subforum for the Sony. Lots of questions have been answered. If yours isn't among them or you can't find it, just ask. Plenty of helpful folks around here.

Also check out the eBook library from MR. Sooooo many free books, lovingly formatted by MR members. That'll keep you reading for a while.

A lot of people don't like the software coming with the Sony. Here is a good alternative: Calibre. Very easy to use and it allows you to organise your books exactly the way you want.

And don't forget to look into the Lounge if you want some fun.
