Persistent Display?
Persistent Display?
This there a way or hack to make the Sony e-Readers remain on a page or note indefinitely while the system turns off? This is useful for say, when you have a note containing some important reminder, you might want it left on the eink screen for reference even after the battery runs out. Since e-ink screens consume no power at static state, there have been many other ebook readers that allow any page to be left on indefinitely while the rest of the hardware shuts down. |

The Reader does in fact consume power when in a static state. There is a very slow battery drain when not turning pages but it still drains. Once the battery dies I do not think you would be able to keep a page or photo on the screen.

No, jessie is right. The actual static E-ink display consumes no power. Our e-readers use power for background processes, like being ready for a button press or keeping paginated data in powered RAM. There SHOULD be a way to hack the readers to leave a display when power is fully off, rather than wiping to blank.
